Make Create Express 23-24
I’m very excited that I have been invited to teach for the first time in the Make Create Express course this year!
Make Create Express is a year long mixed media adventure that kicks off with a FREE Creative Retreat weekend–The Tempter Sessions. The Creative Retreat weekend is open to all and will be on the 8th & 9th of July.
In this course there is such a wide range of lessons, that you are sure to learn new techniques, new processes and discover new ways to express your own unique creativity. And did I mention that there is a FREE weekend event where you can access 26 lessons for free.
One of the reoccurring themes of the Make Create Express workshop is how important creativity is to our well being, how our creativity is a way that we show up for ourselves, how we listen to ourselves, express ourselves, take care of ourselves.

My lesson for the Free Creative Retreat ‘Expressive Art Cards’
For my taster lesson we will make a quick expressive abstract with acrylic inks and spraypaint on a small piece of thick paper (like a card) and then make a charcoal drawing of the mouth and nose.
This is such a fun way to practice the facial features.
What are the main lessons I created for you in Make Create Express 23-24
The main lesson I created for you are called ‘Bloom’ and ‘Fluid Thoughts’
In ‘Bloom’ we will be creating a colourful and expressive mixed media abstract background on paper and we will be using some collage and paint a monochrome portrait on top, that shows a lot of the background through.
Using a dark violet acrylic ink and transparant white we will create the portrait in transparant layers.
In the lesson ‘Fluid Thoughts‘ we will be creating a colourful abstract background on paper using acrylic inks and spray paint, and paint a front facing portrait on top, blending the portrait with the background.
