WHAT WILL I BE TEACHING?

Create a vibrant mixed media portrait in abstract realism!

In this lesson, you’ll dive into the world of mixed media to create a colourful three-quarter portrait of a man, blending abstract and realistic elements in an analagous colour scheme.

What You’ll Learn:

• Expressive Abstract Backgrounds: Use mixed media and mark-making techniques to create an abstract, expressive background.
• Colour theory: Learn about the analagous colour scheme.
• Portrait Drawing: Draw a male three-quarter portrait using a reference photo and the marks of your abstract background.
• Layering Techniques: Build up your painting in layers for depth and dimension.
• Abstract Integration: Learn to integrate the portrait with the abstract background.

I’ve been taking Olga’s PYHaS class for a few years now and there’s always such interesting teachers. Often there are many-so always a few with whom you have a special click. I’ve loved it very much and get inspiration from the diferent approches and techniques the amazing teachters/artists share with us. I’ve even followd some of them to other classes to get some more kicks! And then back to inspiration here!
