When I painted this piece, I wanted the girl to sit quietly, her boots resting on the edge of an unknown world, in a landscape not bound by reality, but by feeling.

The abstract background with swirling hues of deep purple and shimmering gold was painted first, and I wanted it to wrap around her, embracing her presence like a warm conversation.

I like how the hints of orange and blue dance at the edges and coming in, like whispered thoughts, memories of where she’s been, dreams of where she might go. 

She is both still and in motion, a part of everything, yet entirely herself.

The world I painted around her does not demand she change, does not ask her to conform.

It only reflects back her essence, showing her what she has always been. 

The brushstrokes tell a story of connection, not to a place, but to the soul.

To stand strong, to sit at peace, to exist boldly in a world that never quite defines itself.

She is the center, the beating heart of it all, where colour and emotion blend seamlessly. 

She doesn’t need words; the painting speaks for her.

A quiet declaration of ‘I am here, I am myself, and I belong’.
