This is a celebration of mark-making, scale, and playful experimentation, perfect for artists ready to loosen up and dive into mixed media magic.

  • Mark Making & Mixed Media: Express yourself through dynamic lines and textures using acrylic paint, ink, spray paint, markers, and even a touch of glitter. Discover how layering and contrast can bring your figure to life.
  • Painting the Figure: Use ink and markers to add depth, personality, and flair to your figure. You’ll be encouraged to break free from realism and embrace abstraction.

Part 2 Walk With Me, drawing the figure
In this second video, we dive into drawing the stylized figure. I’ll show you how to place it thoughtfully within your abstract background, using a handy scaling tool to measure and enlarge your reference image. We’ll focus on finding dynamic angles and simplifying shapes to create a figure that feels expressive and balanced.

Part 3 Walk With Me, painting the figure
In this final video, we bring the figure to life using ink and markers while keeping it beautifully stylized. The abstract background remains a key player, peeking through and adding depth. We’ll explore shadows and shapes to build dimension, then add highlights for contrast and glow. To finish, crisp white marker linework helps the figure pop and harmonize with the expressive layers beneath. Let’s celebrate the dance between figure and abstraction!
