A new series of five portraits inspired by Marilyn Monroe.
A while ago I was browsing through images in search for some beautiful smiling women for a lesson I am going to film.
While I was searching, I came across some photographs of Marilyn Monroe and I felt so inspired by her that I wanted to start painting right away!
I use Marilyn’s images as a reference, but not with the intention to exactly replicate, more as an inspiration and energy.
When I was painting the portraits, I often listened to some of her music as to invite her energy and spirit into the studio. She is a beautiful and classy woman who has had a lot of obstacles in her life. And I have the feeling she was a gentle soul.
Because I loved painting with her as my inspiration, I decided to make a series of five portraits. They are all the same size and on paper. All with a different feel. And they look so wonderful together!
When I was painting the portrait ‘No ordinary light’, I decided to make a time-lapse video for you to enjoy the process (see below).
I hope you love looking and experiencing the portraits as much as I loved creating them!
